Artificial Grass and Lawns

Saturday, October 4th, 2008

I was recently in Las Vegas and found out that Lake Mead was below 50% of capacity.  I found out that the city has actually banned the planting of real grass. I thought this was a bit strange since all of the casinos as well as all of the medians in the roads have real grass planted in them.

Then I took a closer look and found out that the grass at the casinos and the medians is actually fake grass. My curiosity was raised and I asked a few questions. It seems that “Supply and Demand” has once again come to the rescue. The demand has really spiked in California, Nevada, Arizona and New Mexico where they have various bans on planting real grass.

Some cities are actually paying the residents good money (over $1.00 per square foot) to remove their real grass and replace it with natual landscaping or artificial grass.

I’ll have to say that I am considering replacing my lawn with artificial grass now. The looks of this stuff is so real that you have to get down on all fours and look at the base to see if it’s real grass or not.

It seems the best looking and most real grass comes from only one company. The best looking artifical lawns I have ever seen. Take a look at the pictures and you will be amazed.

They also have outdoor putting greens too. As a golfer my curiosity is aroused and I will have to do some checking on this too.
